John Oyhenart, Executive Coach, Organizational Performance Consultant, MBA, PCC
John Oyhenart is a professional certified coach and leadership trainer based in the Washington DC area. Over a 30-year career in the energy and consulting industries, John had the privilege of leading high-performing teams in engineering, project management, communications, marketing, and business development. As a coach, John leverages his direct experience – from first-line manager to C-suite executive – to help leaders solve complex business problems, manage staff morale, guide teams in transition, and inspire peak performance.
Over the last ten years, John has coached over 400 senior leaders across a broad range of federal and local government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profit organizations. He has also presented at professional conferences and leadership workshops on topics including Emotional Intelligence, Leading Change, Situational Leadership, Team Dynamics, Coaching Skills, Overcoming Resistance, Creating Partnership, Resolving Conflict, Time Management, and Effective Feedback.
John holds an MBA from George Washington University, a B.S. in Economics from George Mason University, and post-graduate professional certificates in Organization Development (Georgetown) and Executive Coaching (George Mason). His professional credentials include Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coach Federation, and he serves in faculty/instructor positions at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), American University, Rutgers University, and the AESP Institute. He is certified in CCL's 360-degree assessment suite, EQ-i 2.0 and EQ360, Everything DiSC, FIRO-B, Hogan Assessments, Influence Style Indicator, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Thomas Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument, and WorkPlace Big 5.
John has dedicated a significant portion of his personal and professional life to serving others, holding board positions in not-for-profit social service, performing arts, and philanthropic organizations. A native of Uruguay, John is fluent in English and Spanish. He is a naturalized US citizen.
