Sayedah Ahmed has had the privilege of being a trusted advisor, coach, and thinking partner to emerging and established leaders for over 25 years. Her clients range from millennials and startup founders taking on leadership roles to established leaders focused on stewarding their organizations. With a global mindset and an emphasis on social and environmental impact, Sayedah assists clients to focus on enhancing their leadership capabilities and capacity to meet the challenges of today’s complex and demanding business environment. As clients address disruptive market shifts, rapid changes driven by digital technology and AI, and the new role of a business leader in society, they work with her in developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, as well as professional advancement, leadership, and entrepreneurship development, succession planning, multigenerational management, work-life balance, and finding purposeful and engaging work.
A graduate of the Georgetown University’s Institute of Transformational Leadership, a former Citi Senior VP and Banker, Merchant’s Regional VP, and Ritz-Carlton’s Senior Director of Guest Experience, Sayedah founded Grace & Steel Associates with the intent of helping clients become strong exemplary leaders who shepherd, galvanize and inspire their stakeholders and communities. Known as a perceptive listener with an insatiably curious mind, a direct and supportive style, and a spirited sense of humor she assists executives in the areas of soft leadership and operational skills, and strategy. In her practice, she specializes in collaborating with clients to help them achieve their goals, be it transforming themselves, their team, culture, or relationships, so they show up as the influential leaders they wish to be.
Aware of her transformation during her time at Georgetown University, Sayedah believes in the power of human potential and the capacity of her clients to stretch and grow. A pragmatist, problem-solver, and aspirational dreamer, she credits her diverse professional and personal experience as a global citizen, immigrant, artist, cancer survivor, entrepreneur, and woman of color for informing a way of being: of grace under pressure. Hence, the name Grace & Steel Associates, as a daily reminder that visionary leadership, like a well-lived life, demands nothing less than stretching beyond one’s absolute best.
